Christmas wishes: A tapestry of joy, reflection, and giving back

December 25, 2023

As we celebrate Christmas, individuals from all walks of life paint a diverse canvas of hopes, traditions, and cherished moments.

In a tapestry woven with family, love, and the spirit of giving, we spoke to several individuals about their Christmas wishes and how they would be spending the day.

Neermala Ramsaywack, a wife and mother of three, opens the door to her world, expressing a wish that transcends her immediate circle.

“My wish for Christmas is for my partner, kids, family, friends, and everyone out there to have a blessed, happy, peaceful, and joyous Christmas, as well as a Happy New Year. I want their lives to be filled with joy, good health, and every good thing their heart desires. Today, I will be spending Christmas with my husband and children, cooking, eating, relaxing, and enjoying the holiday with my family, as much as I can because I always live as if there’s no tomorrow. Yesterday, I made pepper pot and baked cakes because this is a must in every Guyanese household, and that’s basically how I’ll be spending Christmas.”

For Bradley Downer, Christmas carries a bittersweet tinge as he echoes a heartfelt desire for a Christmas miracle.

“My Christmas wish is that all academics make their goals. Moreover, I had a toy drive yesterday, in which over 250 children benefited, and that brought me joy.”
