CIGB, Guyana Ambassador to Cuba discuss supply of COVID-19 medicines

Representatives of BioCubaFarma and the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) met with Guyana’s Ambassador to Cuba, His Excellency, Halim Majeed, to explain their role in the manufacture of medicines that are used in the prevention and management of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

During the meeting, the representatives also expressed interest in exporting their medicines, drugs, and medical equipment to Guyana. Among those medicines are PrevengHo Vir, Biomodulina, HeberFeron, and Intolizumab. All of these medicines are currently being used in Cuba to fight off the deadly disease.

Cuba also manufactures its own stationary oxygen concentrator, emergency patient-ventilator, face shield, face masks, and diagnostic kits for probable respiratory insufficiency cases, among others.
