The idea is that by building a business rooted in something you are already passionate about, it will be easier for you to push through tough challenges and stick it out.One person who has been sticking to his passion and pushing through tough challenges is Brian Andrew Yorrick. This budding professional is working to cement his name in the business industry.

Brian Andrew Yorrick – owner of B&M Graphics

Yorrick was born on 26th September 1995 to Brian and Michelle Yorrick. He attended the East Ruimveldt Secondary School then Chase Academy, where he passed seven subjects at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC).

The young man confessed that while growing up, life for him was riddled with potholes, which he was able to overcome.

It is Ben Carson that said, ‘Through hard work, perseverance, and faith in God, you can live your dreams.’ I have stood by those words ever since I was a child. My childhood was something to reflect on by that quote. Through those years growing up, I was not a ‘heavenly child.’ I had some bad patches, but nevertheless, I was able to write my wrongs and do right eventually. However, like the saying; ‘boys will be boys, I had so much fun.

After completing his secondary education, the young entrepreneur realised his true passion for business and decided to pursue studies in Business Administration at the Government Technical Institute (GTI).

He then moved on and launched B&M Graphics on 2nd January 2016. The 24-year-old entrepreneur said that the company was birthed from his “true desires” for the world of business. The young man hopes to expand his business and create employment for Guyanese.

I love doing it and not just for the profit alone. Like the song says by Chronixx, ‘do it for the love and not for the likes.’ As it relates to mobility, I wish to expand external and internal for my business. There will be more job opportunities from B&M Graphics, expanding countrywide, and helping myself as well as my two managers develop more skills.

He further added that the name of his business came from his family name. Yorrick noted that the business’s thriving principle is to make it known that no work is too big or small.

My parents’ names are Brian and Michelle. My name is also Brian, along with my sister’s name, beginning with the letter ‘M’. The uniqueness of my business will surpass the aim, which is to meet the needs of my target market (small mans’ pocket).

According to this young business owner, he credits his success to several friends, family, and the general public. His words of encouragement to youths like himself is;

The sky is the limit; try to get there even if you fall, you will fall on the clouds. Nothing is impossible with hard work and dedication; you will soar like an eagle.

It has been four years since Yorrick ventured off into the world of business, and has been respected by many. Here are some feedback from satisfied customers:

“Hey, bigs, I just wanted to say that I’m in love with the quality! These cases came out amazing! Thank you very much… even when we had a delay, I’m in love with these cases”. – Angeline.

“I must say it was my first time using you, and I did not regret one bit! My mother is truly in love with her t-shirt and praises me and my sister for her birthday present. Do not stop what you do to make your customers appreciate your work”. – Johnali
