Hoping to bring a more natural option of products that Guyanese can enjoy without fear of skin damage or harsh cancer-causing chemicals is 22-year-old Jusasha Julisha Cyrus.

Cyrus was born on Thursday the 8th of October, 1998 at the Woodlands Hospital to Natasha Jordan and Julian Cyrus.

Jusasha is the eldest of three children and grew up in Herstelling on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD) and also Mocha Arcadia, EBD. She attended the St Agnes Nursery School before heading over to the Winfer Gardens Primary School and then to Christ Church Secondary School.

In 2013, Jusasha secured seven passes at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC). She then moved over to Saint Rose’s High School 6th form, where she pursued one year of studies. She later went to the Accountancy Training Centre (ATC) and began studying the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) course.

On the 1st August 2020, this self-driven, ambitious woman took a leap of faith and launched her business ‘Juju’s Glitz and Glams.’

“I decided to launch this business because I know that I can learn multiple skills, make money, and help others to take care of themselves. I also launched the business to follow my passion, which is to always have a business,” Jusasha explained.

Following the launching of her business, this young businesswoman said that she has been receiving much support from the populace.

Currently some of the items that are offered are hair care and skin care products like Cetaphil soap, Cetaphil facial wash and lotions, bath bombs, wild growth oil and various brands of shampoos and conditioners, perfumes and a whole lot more.

Here are some products sold by Juju’s Glitz and Glams.

She added that all products sold by her business are bought online from various stores like Walmart, Amazon, Target, and other companies.

Meanwhile, the young entrepreneur explained that one of the challenges her business face is getting a storefront that is accessible to all.

I wish to have a storefront in an accessible location where it’s very easy for persons to come and shop for their items. It’s currently difficult having a storefront because there are not many available places that are very accessible to my customers.

Despite not being where she wants to be, Jusasha said;

I would like to start by thanking God and for truly blessing me with this opportunity, thanks to my friends Avina and Cynthia that have been supporting me through this all and my Mom, and I also just wish to thank everybody for their continuous support towards my business.

To this end, the skincare enthusiast hopes to inspire and motivate the younger generation to follow their dreams and aspirations.

Nothing is impossible and to reveal your creative minds to the world. I see myself as being successful by being able to expand my business in the future and gaining the necessary support that is needed to have this done. I see myself and Guyana being very enhanced in the future when it comes to my business, that is, bring that my business will expand to a much more sizable populace.
