Pretty Productive – A Small Online Business Launches Pride-Themed Line of Prints & Stationery

June 2, 2021

Pretty Productive was launched on 3rd April 2021, by Kameela Bacchus with one goal in mind, to provide cute and aesthetic stationery at an affordable price. The online stationery store mainly operates as an online business. However, they have a shelf located at the Sach Store on 161 Waterloo, St., North, Georgetown, Guyana. In Guyana, many of the stationery stores in Guyana typically stock basic supplies. This was primarily the reason why Kameela launched Pretty Productive as there was a market for stationery that was both appealing, functional, and available locally. Pretty Productive aims to provide great service and products at affordable prices. Their stationery currently includes notebooks, pens, washi tape, journals, calendars, schedules, and organizers.

The small business owner was born on 1st June, 1998. Kameela Bacchus grew up on the West Coast of Demerara. She attended Greenwich Park Primary then moved on to St. Roses High where she graduated in 2015. Growing up, she always loved reading and cute stationery.

Previously, Bacchus used basic, functional calendars and schedules to help her manage her work duties, however, this became a dull and tedious task very fast. In early 2021, Bacchus began purchasing stationery overseas for personal use because of the lack of diverse, aesthetic journals and notebooks in Guyana. Soon after, she was struck with a business idea after numerous inquires and compliments from her friends and colleagues. According to the small business owner, writing or jotting down information has allowed her to improve her memory and hopes to help others do the same. She is motivated to share her love for journalling and wanted to make note-taking fun and memorable for everyone. With the cutest stationery from Pretty Productive, you can be pretty and productive!

Pride at Pretty Productive

Pretty Productive is also selling Pride-themed stationery to raise awareness and rally support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Having participated in Guyana’s first Pride Parade in 2018, Bacchus realized that she had no memorabilia or anything to remember the event with the exception of a few pictures.  Even though the Pride Parade was cancelled again this year, Pretty Productive hopes to help make it memorable for people by selling Pride-themed stationery. Essentially, Pretty Productive wants people to remember Pride month and to show their support of the LGBTQIA+ by wearing decorative pins. These pins are currently on sale at their shelf location the Sach Store. Some of the products currently available include pride pins flags, journals, stickers, face and body tattoos, commissioned artworks and prints,  pride-themed wine bottles and mason jars as well as greeting cards. Pretty Productive hopes to make this an annual sale as they believe everyone deserves the right to be themselves.

Apart from their pride-themed stationery, Pretty Productive aims to have a larger variety of products available. They intend to promote journaling locally as it is therapeutic, helps to ease your mind, and help you manage your life a little bit better. Hence, Pretty Productive aims to curate customized beginner journal kits with your choice of the journal (lined, dotted, graph, or blank) and an assortment of washi tapes, markers, stickers, pens, etc. A quarterly subscription box is also in the works. These subscription boxes will include the store’s new and unreleased stationery such as unique designs of washi tape, stickers, pens, and markers. Keeping track of your goals and time can be a boring or daunting task but with cute stationery, you will definitely be “pretty productive”.
