The Minister of Housing and Water earlier today handed over two new boats and engines at the cost of $5 million to the Region One (Barima – Waini) Regional Administration, through its Department of Education, to assist in transporting children to school.

The Sub Regional Department of Education has benefited from a shaded boat and 200 HP Outboard engine while the Public Works Department received a 75HP Outboard engine.
During the handing over ceremony, Minister Colin Croal outlined the need for the transportation while noting that it would assist not only the students but also staff who would need to visit riverain communities.
