RHTYSC distributes $4M food hampers to less fortunate families

September 2, 2020

The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC), with the support of the Berbice Cricket Board, has shared out $4M worth of food hampers, cricket gears, scorebooks, clocks, medicine, bicycles, stationery, chicken products, drinking water, clothing, school bags, footwear, hats and cleaning detergents among others to young cricketers, clubs, schools, churches, public institutions and less fortunate families across Berbice under the Basil Butcher Memorial Project.

The project is being held in honor of the Basil – a legendary test cricketer, who would celebrate his 87th birthday, tomorrow if he was alive.

“As we have done for the last three decades, we would seek ways to assist those in need. We have received requests for assistance from as far as Essequibo, linden, and even Bartica.”

On this note, the RHTYSC is asking members of the public for a small contribution to their Basil Butcher GoFundMe account, which will enable them to make a more positive difference within the country.

“We are being called daily by persons seeking assistance for food hampers, school bags, cricket gears, bicycles for students and stationery,” the Club concluded.
