Benab – Relax in the benab where you will find hammocks and a bar. You can simply read a book or take a nap in the hammock as you enjoy the cool air brushing across your skin. Also, enjoy your favorite beverage with family and friends as you sit under the benab that is filled with chairs and tables. The children and even adults can play games on these tables – cards, domino, etc.
Flora and Fauna – Everywhere around the Savannah Inn you will see flowers, plants, birds and butterflies. You can take a stroll and admire these beautiful things, smelling the freshness of them.
Garden & Terrace – There is a garden which the benab is located inside of. Very beautiful, filled with colorful plants, it is a great background for family pictures or selfies. There is a huge terrace where visitors spend their evening among flowers and plants over a cup of coffee or cacao available for everyone at any time.
Great Room & Lounge – The sitting area of the great room has comfortable chairs and tables for family activities. There is also a lounge with cozy chairs, sofas and tables.
Dining Area – The dining area of the great room has large tables for group dining. Water, tea, coffee, fresh juice and fresh local fruits are always available.
Rooms & Cabins – There are 7 cabins with air-conditioning and en suite 3 piece bathrooms with hot and cold water. There are also 6 rooms off the Great Room also with en suite 3 piece bathrooms. All of the cabins have a fridge, clock and radio. The rooms include water, tea, coffee, fruit juice and fresh fruits which are available 24 hours.
Conference Room – The conference room seats up to 50 people and is fully equipped with computers, fax and phone, flip charts etc. Meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided at a price. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks are also provided at a price. Breaks can be taken in the large benab or in the great room. Feel free to have your work retreats at the Savannah Inn, the peaceful environment will give you the energy and focus you need to execute your given tasks.
Savannah Inn’s Location
The Savannah Inn is located on Main Road, Lethem, Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo, Guyana. Specifically, it is located on the western edge of the Lethem airstrip along the main North/South road. It is a five minute drive from the airport. You can let the Savannah Inn know when you are arriving and they will pick you up and bring you to the hotel. There is no charge for this service. There are daily flights from Georgetown to Lethem or you can take the overnight bus or drive up with your own vehicle.
Tip: Weather – The average temperature is 79F. During the rainy seasons May/June and December/January it rains – that’s why it’s called rainforest. However, it does not usually rain all day nor every day. There is great torrents of rain for short spells then its fine again and the air feels much fresher.
